At the end of the 11th century, Roger de Beaumont, a powerful feudal lord and advisor to William the Conqueror, had a castle and priory built in Beaumont. The castle was destroyed in 1378 during the conquest of the town occupied by the English. Beaumont and the Risle Valley offer a sumptuous landscape, situated within peaceful pastureland and on an unspoiled wooded hillside, sheltered by the quiet of the Valley of Risle, near the centre of Beaumont le Roger and the hiking trails of the Beaumontais country, and the castles of Harcourt and Beaumesnil.
Thank you for taking me to Beaumont and the Risle Valley Nicole 🙂
